As events unfold she finds herself staying longer than expected and Ruby soon meets others like Micah, others with thoughts she can't hear. Cam, who's friendly, super hot, and wants to know everything about her. He starts showing up everywhere she goes and Ruby can't understand why he's so interested in her and why he seems oddly familiar to her. She starts attending Heaven's Point High where she meets Mack, the other new kid, with a hidden past and the fact she can't hear his thoughts as well, causes Ruby to become even more curious about him... and for some reason, she can't help but feel drawn to him. When strange things start happening, unexplainable things, Ruby starts to discover the truth about herself and about how Heaven's Point holds a lot of dark secrets and may not be the quiet little town she had first thought it was.
