    Uncle Andy, Andrew Graham Frame

Paperback (Eloquent Books, Sept. 14, 2010)
"It was dark, it was late, almost 9 o'clock, and someone was following him. He could see the shadow behind him." So begins the story of Ein, a chipmunk who sneaks away from home to experience the world after dark. He is so inquisitive that his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stein, nickname him Ein Stein, after the famous scientist, Albert Einstein. Ein meets another scientist, Dr. Willard Doyle, who calms his fear of shadows and explains many things, such as why we hear thunder after lightning, how we could travel to the moon in the time it takes to say "one hippopotamus," why Ein's friend in the mirror doesn't speak, and what makes a rainbow. He also does a magic trick to explain what makes tomatoes red. When Ein returns home with Dr. Doyle, he finds that a hawk almost carried away his brother. Somehow he and Dr. Doyle must find a way to outwit the hawk. An experiment on how to make your own rainbow is included in this enlightening book that makes learning fun and exciting. Ein doesn't just learn about things, he learns about them in life applications. Author Bio: Andrew Graham Frame is a retired chemical engineer who encourages young people to explore science careers.
