This beautifully illustrated series of fact and fiction titles features a baby animal from one of the world's eight major land masses. Young readers identify with the character as he or she gets into trouble and then, by being resourceful and with help from family and friends, puts things right. Each page features a picture book illustration and story, accompanied by some non-fiction text. Two spreads at the back of each book provide nonfiction information, to be absorbed in the context of the story.

This is the second story in the series, Tales From the Little Brown House on the Hill, by author Lynn Domenick McKenzie. The story is about the children, Doug and Gina, who discover a curious event happening in the marsh next to their house.
