The mice were very happy about this; they would now be free to do as they pleased. They all agreed to greet the cat each morning.He ran to the river where he found a stork. A stork is a bird with a longneck. He began pleading with the stork to help him. “Please help me or I will die.”“Who or what wants to kill you,” the stork asked in surprise for he could see no danger apart from hyena himself who could eat him at any moment.Now in a nearby tree was a brightly colored bird that had also come to drink water and it saw the poor ant, it felt pity. It broke off a twig and threw it near the ant, the ant quickly climbed on to the floating twig. The current of the river finally pushed the twig to the edges where there were reeds, here the ant managed to climb one of the reeds that was touching a nearby tree trunk and it went back home. He then thought to himself, “I will give these mountain goats more food than my goats so that they will not run back to the mountains.” He got the best food and gave it to the mountain goats and only gave very little to his goats.The king’s treasurer had just died and the king was so sad. Where would he find another honest man in the kingdom to take care of the kingdom’s treasury? He called his adviser and asked him how they would find an honest person for the job among such a dishonest citizenry.One day a leopard discovered the burrow and he was hungry, so he climbed up the tree to wait for any rabbit that would show up. When rabbit came back from his errands he saw leopard’s tail hanging down from the tree just above the burrow. He stood still for a few minutes thinking of what to do to save his family.“Tree is there any one in my house?” Rabbit asked and there was no reply from the tree.There came a time of great famine in the land and a lot of animals died of hunger. During this time lion would only leave bones for rabbit whenever he managed to kill an animal. Rabbit was not happy at all as he had a hard time eating the bones left by lion .....
