  • Barn Cats

    Theresa Lepiane

language (Mikita Associates, Oct. 28, 2013)
SAVE A SHELTER CAT. This is simply a book of 20 cute and funny country cats. The pictures have short captions suitable for adult or child. Partial proceeds from the royalties of this book will go to local PA no kill shelters. In my years on the farm, I found that many people think of any barn along the road as a good place to drop their unwanted cats. Most often these cats are not spayed or neutered and are pregnant with unwanted kittens. Farms are owned by farmers who have to care for the cat which was so callously dropped off. They get the cat shots and feed them. Many of these cats are indoor cats who have no idea how to survive without their cushy couch and a litter box. They are usually horrible at catching mice and end up hurt in barn cat fights. If you have an unwanted cat, please take it to a shelter where it has a hope of getting a home or where it will at least be euthanized humanely. Being hurt in barn cat fights, or being eaten by a coyote is not the end your want for your pet. Once upon a time, you wanted him. At the very least, if you are going to drop your cat at a barn, ask the farmer first.

  • Barn Cats - 2 - Fat Cat

    Amanda Thomas, Fergus Wilson

    language (, April 24, 2012)
The second in the series of books telling the adventures of the Barn Cats from the pen of Amanda Thomas. This set of stories centres on the Cats living on the farm with Farmer Todd, his wife, the Chickens and Bess the Sheepdog and her pups. The cats face all sorts of adventures in and around the farmyard, but also further afield. Each cat has their own story to tell. As always a fantastic set of characters from Amanda proving yet again what a glorious story teller she is. Fat Cat tells the story of the biggest cat in the farmyard and his love of food and the relaxed life he leads, until he stows away in a van that leaves the farm and takes Fat Cat on an adventure he will not forget in a hurry. Enjoy.
