Cori knew she would be seeing ghosts when she moved to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It was the place of the greatest battle of the Civil War. Hundreds of ghost sightings had been reported over the last century. Cori expected to catch sight of a few ghosts but not an entire room full! Much less that every one of them would be beckoning to her! Cori was glad she wasnÂ’t alone. Her friend Marta was there to help -well, she was sort of there. Even then, the odds were against them. Two girls against a room full of ghosts. And, worse still, one of the ghost wanted Cori dead. Cori Denton is a ghost hunter. She has the gift to see ghosts. She and her mom, a world famous archaeologist, travel the globe visiting ancient sites, all of which are full of ghosts! Cori says her best friend, Marta Santiago, is a computer genius. When it comes to computers, Marta knows everything! That is why Marta is able to accompany Cori "virtually" via computer. Through technology such as digital cameras, streaming video, instant messaging and cell phone, the heroes experience the adventures "together" despite their personal separation by physical distance. Cori and her "virtual sidekick" must learn about ancient times and cultures to help those trapped between the worlds of the living and the dead to move on to the other side. This title uses the interactive book-webscene storytelling process. Here's how it works: At the end of each chapter, the reader is directed to a specific link on The Ghost Hunter website. Here, the reader views a webscene. Webscenes may be illustrations, animation, video or audio clips, puzzles or games. Each webscene is essential to the storytelling and is a clue to solving the mystery of the book. After viewing the webscene, the reader returns to the book to read another chapter, after which are instructions to view another webscene, and so on. This book contains 10 webscenes.
