A wonderful look at the way a family lives in the 1860s and vacations on Nantucket Island. Gives you a great feeling for life by the ocean and how folks entertained themselves. Dialogue between parents and the children is especially enlightening and takes you back to a gentler more polite behavior. Nostalgia or not, it's a great book.
