“Through The Heart Of A Lion” is a fictional work loosely based on the life of St. Mamas who is celebrated in both the Orthodox and Catholic Church as a Saint. This story is based on the Great Synaxarion of the Orthodox Church. St. Mamas’ Church that contains his relics can be found on the Island of Cyprus. The Church that hold his remains has frequent visitors, some of which experience miracles. The non-fiction version of St. Mamas has been written by St. Dimitri of Rostov and other historians.
