The Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) of World War II earned their military wings and undertook hazardous, even dangerous flight assignments. These elite aviators, organized by air legend Jackie Cochran, faced prejudice and discrimination, yet they were determined to do their duty for their country. To honor their service, the U.S. Congress passed and President Obama signed into law a bill awarding the Congressional Gold Medal to the WASP.These are the stories of their service.
