  • Egyptian Cat Goddess: The Rise of Bastet

    T.S. Cherry, Brenda Walker

language (Tiil Books, Oct. 12, 2016)
The world is filled with many mysteries; but few countries hold those found in the ruins of Egypt. Archaeologist, Gregory Malachove, has never regretted more taking a job as badly as this one. The air inside the pyramid is stifling. No wind has blown through these stone tunnels in countless years, and no feet have disturbed the thick layering of dust and sand that has settled on the floor. To make matters worse, the team of archaeologists are in the midst of a heated debate surrounding the finding of a rather, “unusual” book. The writing in the book is old, filled with ancient hieroglyphics, as one might expect, but some are unknown to Gregory. In the end, it is just a single line of text that actually clicks into place…The rise of Bastet, Goddess of Egypt.Little do Gregory or the other archaeologists realize what they have found, or the dangers that may await them. Is Bastet just a fable, a story of a fictitious God of old Egypt? Or is there more to this Bastet, Goddess of Egypt that meets the eye?

It is the owl, Orion, who has served as Sugarplum's guardian and protector. Orion has sworn, upon her own life, that King Constellation will never have the child. That promise was made nearly two years ago, on the eve of Sugarplum's birth, after King Constellation demanded the Lunar Princess, give him the child. Now, on yet another birthday night, Orion wonders if she's made the right choice. After all, the young crown princess is filled with energy, life, and magic. Even at the young age of two, Sugarplum is clearly a talented wielder.
