Crowded streets. Crowded house. A boy from Detroits East Side gets a chance to break out for a summer and discover the freedom of open space and fast horses. Watonka! Camp Cowboys follows Nick Finazzo on his first job as a junior counselor at a boys camp. A special kind of camp. A horse camp. Nick discovers the thrill of horseback riding as he makes new friends and bonds with his favorite trail horse, Prince. Some of the veteran campers, experienced riders, challenge Nick to learn fast, sometimes the hard way. He comes home after a summer away to family crises but is determined to follow his new passion for riding by working at a local stable and playing modern cowboy by rounding up cattle down south over Easter break.
