Kathleen and Oona of Little Heather Island is a story of how a young girl triumphs over loneliness and separation through a special relationship with an Irish Wolfhound. A year after her mother’s death, Kathleen moves with her father to Little Heather Island, a remote island in the North Sea, where he is assigned by the King as Lord Protector. There they bond out of need and love for each other with the special assistance of Oona, named for the mythological heroine who was the wife of Finn McCool.
