In the summer of 1862, on a lazy, sunny afternoon Charles Dodgson (a.k.a. Lewis Carroll) took young Alice and her two sisters, Edith and Lorina, on a row-boating trip to a local picnic spot. Alice and her sisters pleaded for Mr. Dodgson to tell them a story; and Dodgson didn't disapoint. Later, he wrote down "Alice's Adventeres under Ground," which he published in 1865, as "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland."
