Pamphlet
(Sam L. Gabriel Sons, March 15, 1939)
Early 1900's publisher Sam L. Gabriel created quite a few different "sets" or collections of a wide assortment of fairy tales, each set comprising several books per set. Many of these pamphlets or booklet-style books were illustrated by artists such as R. A. Burley and Gordon Robinson who were artists also known for their other book covers in a style known as "pulp art" or "Good Girl Art". The books were printed on a coated fabric known as "Linenette" which was considered durable and "washable" and so was a good choice for Children's books. Many of these original "sets" have long since been dismantled and are now often sold as individual volumes.
