  • The Red Circle: My Life in the Navy SEAL Sniper Corps and How I Trained America's Deadliest Marksmen

Brandon Webb, John David Mann, Jon Bailey, Tao Productions, LLC

Audible Audiobook (Tao Productions, LLC, July 5, 2012)
Before he could forge a band of elite warriors ... he had to become one himself. Brandon Webb's experiences in the world's most elite sniper corps are the stuff of legend. From his grueling years of training in Naval Special Operations to his combat tours in the Persian Gulf and Afghanistan, The Red Circle provides a rare and riveting look at the inner workings of the U.S. military through the eyes of a covert operations specialist. Yet it is Webb's distinguished second career as a lead instructor for the shadowy "sniper cell" and Course Manager of the Navy SEAL Sniper Program that trained some of America's finest and deadliest warriors - including Marcus Luttrell and Chris Kyle - that makes his story so compelling. Luttrell credits Webb's training with his own survival during the ill-fated 2005 Operation Redwing in Afghanistan. Kyle went on to become the U.S. military's top marksman, with more than 150 confirmed kills. From a candid chronicle of his student days, going through the sniper course himself, to his hair-raising close calls with Taliban and al Qaeda forces in the northern Afghanistan wilderness, to his vivid account of designing new sniper standards and training some of the most accomplished snipers of the 21st century, Webb provides a rare look at the making of the Special Operations warriors who are at the forefront of today's military. Explosive, revealing, and intelligent, The Red Circle provides a uniquely personal glimpse into one of the most challenging and secretive military training courses in the world. A portion of proceeds from this book will go towards The Red Circle Charitable Foundation, which helps families of fallen Special Operations Warriors. About the authors: Brandon Webb is a former U.S. Navy SEAL; his last assignment with the SEALs was Course Manager for the elite SEAL Sniper Course, where he was instrumental in developing new curricula that trained some of the most accomplished snipers of the 21st century. Webb has received numerous distinguished service awards, including the Presidential Unit Citation and the Navy Commendation Medal with a "V" for "Valor", for his platoon's deployment to Afghanistan following the September 11 attacks. He is editor for Military.com's blog Kit Up, SOFREP's Editor in Chief, and a frequent national media commentator on snipers and related Special Operations Forces military issues. John David Mann, who collaborated with Webb in writing The Red Circle, is an award-winning author whose titles include the New York Times best seller Flash Foresight and the international best seller The Go-Giver.

It's 1942 and the Nazis are racing to be the first to build a weapon unlike any known before. They have the physicists, they have the uranium, and now all their plans depend on amassing a single ingredient: heavy water, which is produced in Norway's Vemork, the lone plant in all the world that makes this rare substance. Under threat of death, Vemork's engineers push production into overdrive. For the Allies, the plant must be destroyed. But how would they reach the castle fortress set on a precipitous gorge in one of the coldest, most inhospitable places on Earth? Based on a trove of top secret documents and never-before-seen diaries and letters of the saboteurs, The Winter Fortress is an arresting chronicle of a brilliant scientist, a band of spies on skies, perilous survival in the wild, sacrifice for one's country, Gestapo manhunts, soul-crushing setbacks, and a last-minute operation that would end any chance Hitler could obtain the atomic bomb - and alter the course of the war.
  • Wrath: Soul Savers, Book 5

Kristie Cook, Erin Mallon, Ang'dora Productions, LLC

Audible Audiobook (Ang'dora Productions, LLC, Jan. 13, 2014)
New Adult Paranormal Romance by bestselling author Kristie Cook**Mature Content**Recommended for ages 16+ due to sexual situations and language. Will a mother's wrath make her cross the line? I didn't want to cry. For once in my life, tears evaded me. Perhaps because I refused to grieve this loss, because it wasn't a loss in my eyes, in my heart. It was a call for war, yes. But not a loss. I wouldn't allow it. Besides, I was too mad to cry, even in my exhaustion, and anger would get me much further. As I curled my body around Sasha's, though, I realized the anger within me had changed. I no longer felt irrational and blinding fury that dulled all other emotions. But that was okay. I really didn't want to be Psycho Alexis. This, what I now felt in every cell of my body down to the core, was better. My anger had condensed and solidified into a cold, hard stone settling within me. Something I could control and hold onto for the long term to keep me going and focused on the goal. Wrath. That's what I felt. And there was nothing worse than the wrath of a pissed-off mother. Wrath, the fifth volume in the bestselling, award-winning Soul Savers Series, will have you on the edge-of-your-seat-ravenously-devouring-junk-food as you experience the mysteries, magic, betrayals, and passion that you've come to expect from Kristie Cook's writing.

Author’s Note: If you’re still wondering if this book is for you, check out the reviews below. To my knowledge, each one of them is real and authentic. If you’re wondering about the editing, I just completed (Oct. 2019) a front to back professional edit of the novel to clear up any & all errors that existed because of an miscommunication with my original editor. The story of this novel was originally constructed during my tour of duty in Afghanistan. I sketched the first outline while on layover in Germany and once we were deployed, I just kept on writing. I drafted a lot of it on my free time between patrols and on some nights when the patrols were boring, I would hand chapters to my soldiers who would read them and they would give me feedback. The original plan was for this story to be a graphic novel or a web comic. Years later, I decided it would be better to turn the story into a novel, which I then wrote while studying for my Master’s degree. I tell this story from the perspective of six different characters who occupy every side of the war. There are no real heroes here, just a lot of people trying to make it out alive. I had always wanted to write story like that and now I cannot wait to tell the rest of it. I am hoping to put out Book 2 next year as well as a shorter prequel novel.
