This book, Spot Light on Math-Problem Solving Skills - Third Grade, is part of the Random House School Division. This book is part of a series of support materials produced by Random House for use in classroom but would be wonderful for home teaching situations as well. In this book you will be learning how to solve word problems. You will also be learning how to estimate an answer to a problem. By the end of the book you will be adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing to solve word problems. Every lesson had three parts-HERE'S HOW, TRY THESE, and GO AHEAD. To complete a lesson start by studying the HERE'S HOW part and finish the TRY THESE part. Check your work by using the upside-down answers. Then complete the GO AHEAD part. In each lesson you will find notes and clues on the sides of the pages. Be sure to read them. These notes will explain something new or will help you work the exercises. On the inside of the back cove of this book, you will find a fun practice puzzle.
