This book presents stories of some of the most famous and powerful women of ancient times, including Livia, Antonia, the Agrippinas, Domitia, Plotina, Sabina, the Faustinas, Julia Domna, Julia Mamaea, and Helena. Though ancient authors routinely accused these women of various crimes, a close look at the evidence reveals acts of heroism and personal sacrifice that benefited the Roman people. They were among the most powerful and influential women in history - and it is time that their true stories are heard.
