Vanaja David, a post graduate in English Literature is a name to reckon with in the field of Tamil fiction. Her maiden novel, 'Silaiyai sethukkiya uligal' has been prescribed for college students for fiction study. Her short stories have appeared in popular Tamil weeklies like, Kalki and Rani. The vivid descriptions, we find in her work about children and their feelings and activities have won wide acclaim. She has a remarkable understanding of the child's mind.
