When Clare’s new friends take her on an outing to see the country, the trip goes horribly wrong, and Clare must face another heartbreak head-on. The English for Everyday Activities Activity Book is part of the English for Everyday Activities: A Picture Process Dictionary series. This activity book contains a wide range of activities to help students process the vocabulary from the main text through reading, writing, and speaking. Students are often asked to refer to a specific activity sequence and relate it to their own experiences.. English for Everyday Activities helps ESL students learn how to communicate the step-by-step details of daily events. This integrated series uses a student text with clear and colorful pictures as a starting point and, unlike most picture dictionaries, focuses on the processes involved in everyday activities, such as waking up, riding a bus, playing CDs, and using an ATM. It is a vibrant classroom resource and highly suitable for home study, helpful to students at many levels.

  • The story of Daniel Boone

    William O Steele

Paperback (Young Readers Press, Jan. 1, 1969)
Written in 1953, the book chronicles the story of Daniel Boone's life from youth to his move from Kentucky to Missouri (But nothing about Missouri and his life in MO). That was a bit disappointing. The book was written for young readers, so nothing about his life that was controversial is included. The book is a fast read, and kept my attention. The illustrations (pen and ink) were quite good, as well.
