Katrina, Jamie and Amelia leave Broken Hill in the far west of the state for the long drive with their parents to South West Rocks and a holiday by the sea. But within a short distance, they encounter a red fog that envelopes the car in a violent storm and when they emerge, they find themselves already at their destination. Bridget and Warren, their parents seem unaware that anything is wrong and have no memory of the storm, nor they notice that there is nothing there - no shops, no campsite, no town.The mystery deepens when six-year-old Amelia demonstrates strange powers over animals and heals Katrina when she is bitten by a lethal Brown snake. Then Jamie discovers the astounding reality. Not only did they travel over a thousand kilometres in a few seconds, they have also travelled back in time by about 500 years. But they have yet to learn the shattering truth of how and why this all happened.The three children must draw on all their resources to solve the mystery of just who is Amelia, why do their parents not notice anything is wrong, how to combat the enemy that followed them and how to return home.
