  • 'Twas the Night Before Christmas

Clement Clarke Moore, Chris Hendrie, Chris Hendrie/AudiobookstoLife

    Audible Audiobook (Chris Hendrie/AudiobookstoLife, Dec. 16, 2014)
As a boy, every Christmas Eve, my Scottish father, Big Don, introduced my brothers, sister and I to the spirit of Santa Claus by reading aloud "'Twas the Night Before Christmas". Inspired by this wonderous experience as a child, I have continued this family tradition by reading it to my own lovely children. I am forever grateful to Big Don for sharing his incredible gift for storytelling and hope that in some small way I may inspire your children to awaken their belief in Santa through my reading of this classic Christmas poem, written in 1822. Happy Christmas to you all!

    Audiobook (Chris Hendrie/AudiobookstoLife, Nov. 25, 2014)
From Mark Twain: "My book is intended mainly for the entertainment of young boys and girls. I hope it will not be shunned by men and women on that account, for part of my plan has been to remind adults of what they once were themselves, and of how they felt and thought and talked, and what queer enterprises they sometimes engaged in."
  • Frankenstein: The Modern Prometheus

Mary Shelley, Chris Hendrie, Chris Hendrie/AudiobookstoLife

    Audiobook (Chris Hendrie/AudiobookstoLife, Dec. 21, 2015)
In the summer of 1816, Lord Byron and Percy Bysshe Shelley - the two great poets of their age - and a lovely 17-year-old named Mary Shelley were partying and reading ghost stories on the shores of Lake Geneva. They dared each other to come up with the scariest story. Young Mary was the only one to rise to the challenge, and she gave birth to the entire horror and science fiction genres by crafting a brilliant and chilling account of what it means to be human, what responsibilities we have to each other, and how far we can go in tampering with nature. Frankenstein, published anonymously in 1818, was an instant runaway best seller! Chris Hendrie, who has appeared in several horror classics, including Psycho II, Fright Night, and Tom Holland's Twisted Tales, voices this compelling story of revolt, revenge, and, most intriguingly, one of the most gruesome and terrifying narratives ever told. This is an alarming book - in several very enjoyable ways. This is an amazingly brilliant book that sprang from the young mind of the remarkable Mary Shelley!
  • The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Robert Louis Stevenson, Chris Hendrie, Chris Hendrie/AudiobookstoLife

    Audiobook (Chris Hendrie/AudiobookstoLife, Aug. 18, 2016)
In 1833, Robert Louis Stevenson, the superb Scottish writer, published the run-away best-seller, Treasure Island, which to this day, remains the best pirate book ever created! A year later Stevenson, bedridden and in a fever, woke up from an awful nightmare which so terrified him that he quickly penned The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, published in 1886, another brilliant work about the life and death struggle between two opposing personalities - one essentially good, the other essentially evil - for the soul of one man. The kind and intelligent Dr. Jekyll concocts a drug intended to separate his good self from his evil self, and after drinking it, turns into a psychopathic monster: Mr. Hyde! Stevenson, a writer of great skill and originality, compels us to feel the horror of Dr. Jekyll's duality as he stunningly captures the epic battle of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde! Read by Chris Hendrie, veteran actor from the classic horror movies Psycho II and Fright Night, Jekyll and Hyde is a thrill/chill journey that will capture your imagination in the best horror-classic tradition.
