  • The Little Prince

    Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Miquênia Litz

eBook (Babelcube Inc, Nov. 11, 2017)
The Little Prince is a work in French language, the most famous by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Published in 1943 in New York simultaneously in English and French, it’s a poetic and philosophical tale in the guise of a children's story. It has simple and uncluttered language, because it is intended to be understood by children, and, in fact, for the narrator, it is the preferred vehicle of a symbolic conception of life. Each chapter talks about a meeting of the little prince who leaves him perplexed about the absurd behavior of grown-ups. Each of these meetings can be read as an allegory. The watercolor paintings are part of the text and participate in this purity of language: simplicity and deepness are the key qualities of the work. You can read an invitation from the author to find the child in yourself, because all grown-ups were first children (but few of them remember). The book is dedicated to Léon Werth, but when he was a little boy.

    Javier Salazar Calle, Pamela Daccache

language (Babelcube Inc., Aug. 26, 2017)
Chosen as best young adult fiction novel for 2014 in Spain! When a common normal person, anyone of us, suddenly finds himself or herself in a life-and-death situation in the middle of the forest, would he or she know how to survive? This is the simple dilemma that is offered to the protagonist of our story, who, returning from a relaxing holiday in Namibia on a typical photographic safari, is involved in an unexpected extreme survival situation in the Ituri forest, in the Republic of Congo in Africa when the plane he was in gets shot down by rebels. A place where Nature is not the only enemy and where survival is not the only problem.A classic scented adventure which makes this book the perfect place to escape reality and feel within you, the anguish and despair of the hero while facing the challenges he is presented with. This book smoothly blends emotion and tension when faced with the challenge to survive, but also the psychological degradation of the protagonist throughout the story and an in-depth study on the environment, the animals, the plants as well as the people, that the author carried out. It also teaches us that our perception of where our limits lie are usually wrong, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. This novel comes highly recommended.
  • The werewolf exists!: A real story

    Francisco Paiva Jr., Maria Martinez

language (Babelcube Inc., March 22, 2019)
The werewolf exists! For those who don’t believe in it, they must read this book. In its pages, we bring the werewolf and we are not talking about fiction, we are talking about reality. Of a being from remote times, but a real creature, that still lives in a time of technologies and future. It’s the werewolf known from the stories told in nights of the haunt and full moon. The creature that chooses Joanópolis as its homeland and where it has fantastic stories like the baby werewolf and the transformation seen by the cops. A place where many have suspicions about the identity of the creature, that could even be the neighbor next door. A book inspired by stories kept trough time and that the pop culture preserved to the future. And now we immortalize it in a form of a book report. Among the many reports of werewolves in this book, one caught the attention: one of two cops that have registered one metamorphosis in the occurrence report. It should be like any other call if it wasn’t for what those two cops found on that house. What they saw through that window never left their minds, it marked their lives. Beside them, a lot of other interviewed describe in this book their contact with the creature. It is not just a tribute to the pop culture, it is a report book that verifies: the werewolf exists!
