This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. Under the Lilacs was published in 1878, approximately 10 years after the release of Little Women. This charming story is about two girls, Bab and Betty who are having a tea party. When a dog eats their cake, and they end up finding a circus runaway in their barn. Alcott was a very prolific writer who wrote books for almost 40 years. She passed away in 1888 due to health problems related to mercury poisoning.

This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the original. Due to its age, it may contain imperfections such as marks, notations, marginalia and flawed pages. All sorts of neglected flowers and wild weeds grew between their stems, covering the walls of this summer parlor with the prettiest tapestry. A board, propped on two blocks of wood, stood in the middle of the walk, covered with a little plaid shawl much the worse for wear, and on it a miniature tea-service was set forth with great elegance.
