They were now aboit to call on one of their connections, and gazed anxiously through their spectacles for the Castle ofF iordelisa, where she dwelt. Fiordelisa came at last in sight, a grey, rambling, and ancient pile, set amidst cypress and ilex woods, with its gardens straying down into its farm-lands in Italian fashion, covering hills and plains with corn and vine and olive.
