  • The Kybalion

    The Three Initiates

    MP3 CD (IDB Productions, March 15, 2018)
The Kybalion CHAPTER I THE HERMETIC PHILOSOPHY "The lips of wisdom are closed, except to the ears of Understanding"—The Kybalion. From old Egypt have come the fundamental esoteric and occult teachings which have so strongly influenced the philosophies of all races, nations and peoples, for several thousand years. Egypt, the home of the Pyramids and the Sphinx, was the birthplace of the Hidden Wisdom and Mystic Teachings. From her Secret Doctrine all nations have borrowed. India, Persia, Chaldea, Medea, China, Japan, Assyria, ancient Greece and Rome, and other ancient countries partook liberally at the feast of knowledge which the Hierophants and Masters of the Land of Isis so freely provided for those who came prepared to partake of the great store of Mystic and Occult Lore which the masterminds of that ancient land had gathered together. In ancient Egypt dwelt the great Adepts and Masters who have never been surpassed, and who seldom have been equaled, during the centuries that have taken their processional flight since the days of the Great Hermes. In Egypt was located the Great Lodge of Lodges of the Mystics. At the doors of her Temples entered the Neophytes who afterward, as Hierophants, Adepts, and Masters, traveled to the four corners of the earth, carrying with them the precious knowledge which they were ready, anxious, and willing to pass on to those who were ready to receive the same. All students of the Occult recognize the debt that they owe to these venerable Masters of that ancient land. But among these great Masters of Ancient Egypt there once dwelt one of whom Masters hailed as "The Master of Masters." This man, if "man" indeed he was, dwelt in Egypt in the earliest days. He was known as Hermes Trismegistus. He was the father of the Occult Wisdom; the founder of Astrology; the discoverer of Alchemy. The details of his life sto
  • The Swiss Family Robinson

    Johann R. Wyss

    MP3 CD (IDB Productions, March 15, 2010)
The Swiss Family Robinson is a swashbuckling tale of adventure, written by a Swiss pastor. Wyss wrote the novel for his sons as a lesson book about Christian values and self-reliance. However, Wyss provides plenty of action, making The Swiss Family Robinson a favorite literary escapade. The Swiss Family Robinson follows the plight of a Swiss family, who are shipwrecked in transit from Switzerland to the new world. After they forage what they can from the ship, including many different types of animals who have survived the wreck, they make their way to a tropical island, where they set up camp and try and survive the night. The story is narrated by the father, whose faith in God is used to encourage his worried family, which includes his faithful wife and three incorrigible sons. They face many dangers, including raging storms, wild animals, and even pirates. By working together, they construct a home and a life on the island, and find they are content to live there for the rest of their days, sheltered in an elaborate tree house. The shipwrecked family's adventures never ceases to capture the imagination of children and adults alike. The novel has been adapted into numerous films and television programs, the most famous being the movie produced by Disney. Wyss modeled the tale after Defoe's Robinson Crusoe, which is how the novel begat its title. Title: The Swiss Family Robinson Author: Johann R. MP3 CD (IDB Productions, Jan. 1, 2016)
THE WOLF AND THE KID There was once a little Kid whose growing horns made him think he was a grown-up Billy Goat and able to take care of himself. So one evening when the flock started home from the pasture and his mother called, the Kid paid no heed and kept right on nibbling the tender grass. A little later when he lifted his head, the flock was gone. He was all alone. The sun was sinking. Long shadows came creeping over the ground. A chilly little wind came creeping with them making scary noises in the grass. The Kid shivered as he thought of the terrible Wolf. Then he started wildly over the field, bleating for his mother. But not half-way, near a clump of trees, there was the Wolf! The Kid knew there was little hope for him. "Please, Mr. Wolf," he said trembling, "I know you are going to eat me. But first please pipe me a tune, for I want to dance and be merry as long as I can." The Wolf liked the idea of a little music before eating, so he struck up a merry tune and the Kid leaped and frisked gaily. Meanwhile, the flock was moving slowly homeward. In the still evening air the Wolf's piping carried far. The Shepherd Dogs pricked up their ears. They recognized the song the Wolf sings before a feast, and in a moment they were racing back to the pasture. The Wolf's song ended suddenly, and as he ran, with the Dogs at his heels, he called himself a fool for turning piper to please a Kid, when he should have stuck to his butcher's trade.
