Julius Caesar is a misfortune by William Shakespeare, accepted to have been written in 1599. It depicts the scheme against the Roman tyrant of a similar name, his death and its outcome. It is one of a few Roman plays that he composed, in view of genuine occasions from Roman history, which likewise incorporate Coriolanus and Antony and Cleopatra.
