Do you believe in magic? Do you believe that animals and humans may have a special, enduring and, yes, magical connection that can transcend time and space? Do you believe that kindness is repaid 7 times, or in this story, 9 times over? Mr. and Mrs. Woodward spent their working years renovating and rebuilding an old homestead in the mountain community of Cedar Valley. Finally they were able to move to the homestead they named Harmony Hollow, their animal sanctuary. Mr. Woodward and Mrs. Woodward took care of the many lost or abandoned cats that came to live live with them. Being lifetime animal lovers, this had always been their dream. They had three dogs and a whole brother hood of cats lead by "Danny", a large orange and white Persian cat and his best friend, "Oscar", a solid black Persian. When Mrs. Woodward becomes fatally ill, the oldest cat of the family, Bonnie, an old Irish cat, advised Danny and Oscar that, even though their mistress was very sick, there was a way for the family of cats and dogs to work together to save their mistress's life. Bonnie explained that they would have to go on a quest, away from the safety of their homestead, follow the signs and ultimately they must find the magic to save Mrs. Woodward. Told through the eyes of the animals, this adventure is sometimes scary, sometimes exciting, and sometimes just plain confusing but together they go find the answers they need, the answers to be found only in The Secret of the Ninth Life.
