  • The Lost Treasure of Gascony

    Julie Hall, Anne Fioc

    language (, April 24, 2016)
Since we last met Dan Turner in The Deadly Curse of the Gold of Toulouse, he has finished his Middle School years and is enjoying his last summer holiday before going to the International Lycée. His parents have done the dirty on him (as parents will) and moved to a town in the back of beyond called Eauze. This is mainly because his mother, an ancient historian, was enchanted by the place as it is home to a recently discovered fabulous cache of Roman treasure. In order to continue his bi-lingual education and stay with his friends, Dan is obliged to live with his friend Jean-Michel Vernier during the week as his new home is too far from his school. During his holiday, Dan sets himself the task of discovering why the treasure had been buried and left undisturbed since antiquity. Meanwhile, we are introduced to the Libo family who lived in Eauze in the 3rd century AD. They were the owners of the thousands of coins and lovely jewellery which was hidden and never retrieved and as the story unfolds, we begin to understand why they left it behind. Will Dan discover the truth? Will he survive his first year of Lycée? The story continues.

  • THE TREASURE TRAIL

    Marah Ellis Ryan

    language (e-artnow, April 11, 2017)
This carefully crafted ebook: “THE TREASURE TRAIL” is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents.Excerpt:"In the shade of Pedro Vijil's little brown adobe on the Granados rancho, a horseman squatted to repair a broken cinch with strips of rawhide, while his horse––a strong dappled roan with a smutty face––stood near, the rawhide bridle over his head and the quirt trailing the ground. The horseman's frame of mind was evidently not of the sweetest, for to Vijil he had expressed himself in forcible Mexican––which is supposed to be Spanish and often isn't––condemning the luck by which the cinch had gone bad at the wrong time, and as he tinkered he sang softly an old southern ditty...."Marah Ellis Ryan (1860–1934) was an author, actress, and activist from the United States. She was noted as an authority on the tribal life of the Indians in the United States and Mexico and went to live with the Hopi tribe becoming the only white female to be ever admitted to their secret religious rites. As a young woman she wrote poems and stories under the pen-name of “Ellis Martin.”
