Some humans feel that they should not have to depend on the Lhari to get to far away planets and enlist Bart to help them wrest the secret from the Lhari by undertaking a perilous mission. Marion Zimmer Bradley (1930-1999) was an American author of fantasy novels such as "The Mists of Avalon" and the Darkover series, often with a feminist outlook. Her science fiction novel "The Colours Of Space" (1963) shows the influence of such writers as Leigh Brackett, Edmond Haminton, and Henry Kuttner and set the stage for her later success with the Darkover seriets.

In order to prepare for the construction of a new reservoir in Massachusetts, he surveys a rural area that is to be flooded near the town of Arkham. He comes across a mysterious, abandoned farmstead, which is completely devoid of all life. At the center of the farmstead is an old well. The site fills him with an unnatural sense of dread, and he hurries past it....Another excellent story by Lovecraft, regarding the demise of a family who comes in contact with a suspicious meteorite.
