    Third printing, 1931, an apparently unread hardcover with red boards and red-black design on the front and spine, also with considerable water staining at the top back pages and cover, with the date "Nov. 12, 1954" written in pencil at the top of the first page, with an unclipped (no price anywhere) dust jacket that has considerable wear and chipping at the spine ends and outer corners, also the edges, with pieces missing, some of which has worn onto the board eges, from Grosset and Dunlap. (Actually, the jacket appears to have stuck to upper edges of the front and back boards.) By Dashiell Hammett, previously author of "The Maltese Falcon".
