Kai ( rhymes with "sky" ) Blue is the first in a series of fun and heartwarming children's books about the small things kids can do to make positive changes in the world and make it a better place.Set on the island of Kaua`i, known as The Garden Island in the chain of Hawaiian islands, the first book features six year old Kai who meets a talking dolphin named Malu. Together, they rally Kai's friends and family members to clean up the island's beaches and recycle cans and bottles. This engaging children's picture book addresses environmental cleanup and is written for ages 2 to 7 with rhyming text that children will delight in hearing again and again. Kai becomes a leader of environmental awareness in his community. In future editions, he travels to other cities with his dolphin friend, Malu to explain the importance of protecting the earth. Kai also wants to share the values of respect, caring and sharing, good manners, how to be helpful to others, and how to face new challenges and solve problems. He learns many lessons as he interacts with different people. But of all the skills and talents he develops, he decides he wants to help as many people as he can.The book features 15 original and adorable color illustrations by Dania Mallette. It also includes a short list of basic Hawaiian words. A perfect choice for the "read-to-me" age group as well as for children who are starting to read on their own. With proceeds from the Kai Blue series, Nana Banana and her Team Kai Blue hope to open a FREE children's tutoring center with one-on-one and electronic sessions.
