After becoming a journalist in 1883, Arnold published this, his first book, which was followed by and Bird Life In England (1887) and his first novel The Wonderful Adventures of Phra the Phoenician (1890). This book was originally published in 1935 and is proudly republished here with a new introductory biography of the author.
