    Dawn Doig

language (Pen It! Publications, LLC, May 25, 2019)
I would like to dedicate this book to the hearing-impaired children of the world, but particularly to those children I have had the pleasure of working with in Canada, Vietnam, Kuwait, England and most recently Saudi Arabia. I have had an extremely rewarding career as an audiologist and it has been both challenging and fulfilling to work with these children and their families as they discover sound and learn to communicate with their residual hearing. I would like to acknowledge a very special little girl, Divya, who was just three years old when I taught sign language to her and her mother in Kuwait. She has touched my heart and I will never forget her determination to learn. The sounds of life are truly a blessing that all should be able to enjoy.

Buddy Estes, the author, was one of those teenagers.
