Bonnie Prince of Charlie is about the adventures of the son of a Scottish officer in the French service in 1745. The boy, brought up by a Glasgow bailie, is arrested for aiding a Jacobite agent. He escapes, is wrecked on the French coast, reaches Paris, and serves with the French army at Dettingen. He kills his fathers foe in a duel, and escaping to the coast, shares the adventures of Prince Charlie, but finally settles happily in Scotland.
