I like the way Stoker shows warm feelings between the characters then juxtaposes them with an environment of extreme violence and insanity. If not for the repose of normal people in the novella, the strangeness of the story would cause it to fall apart. This is Stoker's signature method in Dracula as well. I loved the story and think it's the authors second best novel after Here are some of Amazon’s Excellent Reviews - "It was an enjoyable book. I didn't know what to expect as all I knew of the story was the movie starring Hugh Grant.“ Take advantage of our excellent books Get your kindle copy today!
  • The Lair of the White Worm

    Bram Stoker

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, Sept. 11, 2014)
At the peak of his career, Abraham "Bram" Stoker (November 8, 1847 – April 20, 1912) was working as an assistant for his friend, Shakespearean actor Sir Henry Irving, a well known and acclaimed actor in his day. But it would be the assistant whose name would outshine the boss’s. Stoker, an Irish novelist and short story writer, is known around the globe for his Gothic horror character Dracula. Inspired in part by his friend Irving, as well as the notorious Vlad the Impaler, Stoker studied stories about vampires, but ultimately his Count Dracula would become synonymous with the famous monsters. And drawing off his experience as a newspaper writer, Stoker wrote Dracula as a collection of realistic diary entries, telegrams, letters, ship's logs, and newspaper clippings, all of which made the story that much scarier and unique.

    Bram Stoker

    Hardcover (Blurb, March 10, 2017)
Adam Salton sauntered into the Empire Club, Sydney, and found awaiting him a letter from his grand-uncle. He had first heard from the old gentleman less than a year before, when Richard Salton had claimed kinship, stating that he had been unable to write earlier, as he had found it very difficult to trace his grand-nephew's address. Adam was delighted and replied cordially; he had often heard his father speak of the older branch of the family with whom his people had long lost touch.
  • The Lair of the White Worm

    Bram Stoker

eBook (A Word To The Wise, Aug. 20, 2013)
The Lair of The White Worm (1911) is a novel by the Irish novelist Bram Stoker who is mostly known for being the author of the seminal horror classic Dracula (1897). In both novels, Stoker proves to be a masterful creator of visceral fear and breath-taking suspense. The story of The Lair of The White Worm centers on the character of the Australian young man, Adam Salton, who is summoned to England by his granduncle Richard Salton. The latter wants to strengthen the bonds between the family’s last two members, but also to make Adam his heir. As soon as Adam reaches his granduncle’s house in the Old World, he starts to witness curious happenings that he fails to understand. Most – but not all – of the inexplicable phenomena that he observes center around the suspicious characters of Edgar Caswall and Arabella March. While the first has mesmerizing capabilities that he uses for licentious ends, the second seems to be mysteriously linked to all the strange killings of kids and animals recently recorded. Indeed, it is amid Arabella’s big house that Adam discovers a pit where a huge snake-like worm dwells. The rest of the story displays Adam’s fatal combat against Caswall, Arabella and the White Worm.
