  • When I Grow Up

    JD Clanton

Paperback (Independently published, July 29, 2019)
Should your child already be thinking about college? Or learning a trade such as carpentry? Helped by the many jobs and occupations available to them one day, children will explore words that begin with the letter D. They will learn to recognize the diverse opportunities from which they can plan their dreams. 20 pages of information in poem form enable parents to interact with their children on a higher level. Individual pages encompass a multitude of images, some large, repetitive and some very subtle. Mostly realistic images and not cartoonish, children will love seeking out the drummer from the doctor; the dancer from the architect. All pages are full-color images of children placed innocently (albeit humorously!) in the roles that could be their future. Colors and features of the images are highlighted, piquing the interest of the reader but are presented in a non-threatening 'comic book' motif. The text will encourage you to begin educating your child on the many professional roles needed in our society while encouraging them to pursue what makes them happy.
