A lone man runs for his life from a squad of 50 armed militia. He has no memory, no clue who they are or why they want him dead. Only one man knows the truth and that is Jack Logan, the leader of the mob. To Logan, the stranger poses the only threat to his plans for world domination, so Logan hunts him relentlessly. Ultimately, the wounded stranger winds up on the doorstep of Doctor Lazlow’s house. Doc is a semi-retired psychiatrist/inventor who uses an experimental device that unlocks part of the stranger’s memory. They learn the world they are in is computer generated. A virtual world, and it has been infected with a Doomsday virus that can destroy the planet. The stranger’s name is John Neumann, the creator of the virtual environment. The only way to save the people is to get them out. To do that, John had to come into the world itself and reprogram the massive Genesis computer from the inside—but at the expense of wiping his mind clean. He has just 40 days to regain the remainder of his memory, 40 days to find the solution before the world explodes. His only option, however, may cost him his life.
