Working together, the best friends must hide their growing abilities from the vulture-like claws of the council. This strength is too difficult to hide whilst fighting for their lives, as it doesn’t take long for a familiar enemy to return and bring unimaginable terror with him. No-one can stand against his will, as he reigns destruction on the house. Amelia and her team must find a way to fight not only the enemy, but the very people they strive to protect. As the terror looms, Amelia’s heart is torn in two when she spies Trenton in another’s arms. Comforted by a new and unexpected teammate, she finds herself thrust into a new level of adrenaline and adventure, in the arms of a Shifter. Among the danger is a time of celebration, where two of Amelia’s friends solidify their relationship in a ceremony none of them could ever forget. The House becomes a fortress of sanctuary and of hostility, as fires explode, minds are assaulted, and hope fades. While the world pulls the team apart, Amelia must find the strength to keep them together, and decide: should she surrender and give the enemy what he wants, or fight side by side with her friends, knowing all will not survive?
