[Adapted, produced and directed by Joe Bevilacqua and Performed by a Full Cast]When Joe Bevilacqua was a student in his final semester at Kean College in 1982, he designed his own course, in which he produced and directed a radio version of Hamlet. After graduating summa cum laude, Bevilacqua saw his production of Hamlet picked up and distributed by the National Federation of Community Broadcasters and aired on public radio stations nationwide. Bevilacqua went on to become one of the most prolific radio drama producers in the United States. The master reels of his production of Hamlet were lost in the 1980s, but in January 2015, while going through some old files, he managed to track them down. This audiobook brings this creative and inspired adaptation to a new generation of listeners.

Hamlet is the story of the Prince of Denmark who learns of the death of his father at the hands of his uncle, Claudius. Claudius murders Hamlet’s father, his own brother, to take the throne of Denmark and to marry Hamlet’s widowed mother. Hamlet is sunk into a state of great despair as a result of discovering the murder of his father and the infidelity of his mother. Hamlet is torn between his great sadness and his desire for the revenge of his father’s murder.
