After a mysterious sea monster damages an ocean liner, the US government assembles a team in New York City to track down the creature and destroy it. French marine biologist Pierre Aronnax receives a last-minute invitation, as does Canadian harpoonist Ned Land. They leave aboard the Abraham Lincoln, bound for Cape Horn and then the Pacific Ocean. But all is not as it seems. When they find the monster and attack, the Abraham Lincoln is damaged, and Aronnax and Land end up thrown onto the monster’s hide. Where they expect to find flesh, there is metal. The monster they have been hunting is in fact a submarine called the Nautilus, captained by a mysterious renegade named Nemo. Aronnax and Land are swiftly taken captive aboard the impossible vessel, which then dives deep beneath the waves. So begins the adventure of a lifetime for Aronnax and Land, as Nemo refuses to ever let them leave for fear that they will reveal the truth about the Nautilus. And all too soon, Aronnax and Land discover the submarine's purpose: Nemo is on a mission to seek out scientific knowledge and wreak revenge on the civilization that destroyed his family. It is during the pursuit of this mission that the Nautilus explores shipwrecks, hunts sharks, visits the real Atlantis, and ventures to the deepest, darkest reaches of the oceans.

    eBook (Racehorse, May 6, 2017)
It was in 1867 when first rumors about dangerous and horrible monster that lives somewhere in sea depths appeared. According to witnesses, this creature was enormous and could sink any ship. Many people claimed that it was just a very big whale, but this beast was twice bigger than the biggest known whale. When a Capitan of American ship named ‘Abraham Lincoln’ was gathering a team for monster hunting, he invited a famous writer and professor of sea world Aronnax to be an expert at expedition. Aronnax took his friend Conseil to be his assistant. Also on board was well-known whale killer Ned Land, who promised if they found the creature, only one of them would survive. Finally, after three months of sailing they have faced with their enemy in the middle of nowhere.

    Jules Verne

    Hardcover (Inkflight, Nov. 13, 2018)
On an expedition to find a giant sea monster, three men are hurled into the ocean. They are rescued by Captain Nemo in his technologically advanced submarine. In order to keep his submarine a secret, Nemo tells the three companions that they can never leave. Their adventures take them to the submerged land of Atlantis, to the Antarctic ice shelves, and to the ocean floor in diving suits to hunt sharks with air-guns. What follows is a gripping tale of excitement as the companions try to solve Nemo’s deepest secrets. In 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The description of Nemo’s ship, called the Nautilus, was considered ahead of its time, as it accurately describes features on submarines, which at the time were very primitive vessels. In Journey to the Center of the Earth, readers were brought face to face with prehistoric creatures deep within the bowels of the Earth. In Around the World in 80 Days, Jules Verne helped make the world seem a little smaller, and accessible to young adventurers, spurring many to attempt a voyage around the world. This cloth-bound book includes a Victorian inspired dust-jacket, and is limited to 100 copies.

    Jules Verne

language (GoodBook Classics, Dec. 25, 2014)
French naturalist Dr. Aronnax embarks on an expedition to hunt down a sea monster, only to discover instead the Nautilus, a remarkable submarine built by the enigmatic Captain Nemo. Together Nemo and Aronnax explore the underwater marvels, undergo a transcendent experience amongst the ruins of Atlantis, and plant a black flag at the South Pole. But Nemo's mission is one of revenge-and his methods coldly efficient.Quotes from the book:“We may brave human laws, but we cannot resist natural ones.” “If there were no thunder, men would have little fear of lightning.”“The human mind delights in grand conceptions of supernatural beings.” Readers' reviews:“You can't be a serious science-fiction reader without delving just a bit into the genre's roots. 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' is a pretty ripping adventure complete with hidden underground worlds and dinosaurs and gleefully wrong-headed theories about geology.” (Chad Bearden, goodreads.com)“Wow, wow, wow. Excellent book. Probably not much needs to be said about this classic, but it was much more than I expected.” (Denise, goodreads.com)“This story is one of adventure, indomitable and evoking so many sights of creation in your mind's fantasy!” (N.T. Embe, goodreads.com)
