Religion Around Us: Book 2
Barry Dodd
Paperback
(Longman Schools Division (a Pearson Education company), Jan. 29, 1990)
(The second of a two book series studying some of the main religions in Britain today. Each book has 14 short units which develop a particular topic or theme with reference to one or several religions. The starting point in each unit is the evidence we can see around us - anything from buildings, ceremonies and monuments to dress, banners and shop fronts, thus encouraging pupils to search their own locality for clues and signs of religious activity. Sets of pupil activities follow every unit and these are intended to help pupils to understand the key ideas in the unit. Extra pupil activities are provided in a separate set of linked copymasters. These contain ideas for research, practical work and project work, in and outside the classroom and also a set of teacher's notes. Although many of the activities relate directly to the two resource books, the copymasters may also be used independently. The book is illustrated with photographs, most of them taken specially in a wide variety of rural and urban locations in the UK)
