It shares the miracle of Jesus’ arrival as it’s celebrated by angels and shepherds.

This book tells the story of the birth of Jesus, from the angel’s visit to Mary to the flight to Egypt. It is very simple and straightforwardly faithful to the Bible accounts in Matthew and Luke. The charming pencil and watercolour illustrations by Sophie Allsopp respectfully complement the great story, adding detail and warmth that will be appreciated by adult and child alike. This little hardback is a beautiful but very accessible presentation of the familiar nativity story which makes a lovely Christmas gift.

What began as an ordinary, star-filled night of shepherds watching over their flocks ended with something SPECTACULAR AND DEFINITELY EXTRA-ORDINARY! I never tire of reading the Biblical account in Luke of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This poem of the event from the shepherds’ point of view is my way of bringing it to life for children of all ages—including the “young at heart.” May the Lord be glorified in this effort!
