This children story is approximately seventeen pages. It is about a little boy, named Jodi, who discovers a live baby dinosaur living in a gully behind their farm. During the day the baby dinosaur hides by curling its huge body into the shape of a giant boulder. One day tired from chasing a rabbit, Jodi stops and rests against the giant boulder. While lying there Jodi hears a gentle sounding voice calling out to him. When Jodi asks who is calling out to him the dinosaur says it is me, Loki. I am the giant boulder that you are resting against. Jodi, now confused asked Loki, the giant boulder, to reveal himself. Loki agreed only after telling Jodi that he was the fearsome beast the local farmers had seen. Afraid they might shoot him, he now hides during the day. Now, Loki only goes out at night to feed on the sweet sagebrush that grows outside the gully. After Loki reveals himself, Jodi isn't frightened. He sees the kindness in Loki's eyes. Also, there is a big smile on his face knowing that he had finally found a friend. He tells Jodi that he had previously lived in a deep subterranean cavern deep beneath the Earth. Many years before and after an earthquake had opened a passageway between their two worlds, Loki disobeyed his parents and traveled up the passageway. And, after Loki stepped on to our Earth his small puppy sized body grew to the size of a real brontosaur dinosaur. Because of his giant size Loki knew he could never go home again. He told how he missed his mother and father, and all his dinosaur friends. Fortunately, Jodi and his parents will discover how to get Loki back to his underground cavern home before the summer ends.
