  • Animals in Danger

    Rod Theodorou

Hardcover (Heinemann Library, Oct. 15, 2001)
An introduction to animals in danger for young readers. This pack contains six titles, covering the panda, whale, manatee, rhino, tiger and gorilla. It is part of a series which explores the behaviour and lifestyles of different animals, all of which are in danger. The series explains the concepts of endangerment, extinction and animal protection at a very simple level. Each book features a general introduction to animals in danger, before focusing on a particular animal. It follows the animal through its daily life, looking at its appearance, behaviour, habitat and special characteristics. It then explains why the animal is in danger, what the danger is, and what measures are being taken to restrict or prevent the danger. Care is taken to show the difference between danger from humans and the environment, and the "natural" danger animals face in the wild.
