On the edge of our solar system far beyond the orbit of Pluto lies another solar system very similar to ours. It is called SOL 2. Separating the two systems is the Oort cloud, a region of space where comets are formed. Orbiting the Quilids planet is the volcanic moon of Bunsen home of the Plasmoids. But something strange is happening that is causing the Quilids planet to freeze. From this other solar system comes Space Captain STEVE CRATER. He has been sent to Earth to find MONKEY and to ask his help in solving the mystery of the freezing planet. Monkey agrees to help and sets off with Captain Crater and his crew, Doctor FIONA PHOTON and their Jeloid navigator JELL O-TEEN, in the spaceship FALLING STAR. Monkey will meet many strange creatures and see bizarre and exotic planets as he helps the crew of the Falling Star unravel the mystery that will lead him to discover what is causing the Quilids’ planet to freeze. Not all the aliens Monkey encounters are friendly, some are very bad tempered. In following the clues to help resolve the mystery Monkey will visit many strange worlds: a planet almost identical to Earth but far more technologically advanced where Steve Crater and the SOL2 Space Fleet operate from, Heart’s moon populated by old discarded intelligent appliances, machines, robots and vehicles, the ocean world of the Quilids, a world made of diamondS with acid seas that are populated by creatures made from crystal and the volcanic moon of the Plasmoids.
