    (Scribner, Armstrong, & Company, Jan. 1, 1874)
Here is the 350 pg privately owned hardcover by Helen Hunt Jackson from Scribner, Armstrong and Co., and copyrighted 1874. This is the 1st Series of stories and including: Draxy Millers Dowry, Elders Wife, Whose Wife Was She, One-Legged Dancers, How One Woman Kept Her Husband and Ester Wynns Love Letters. The book has no dust cover. The green boards with gold gilt lettering/decoration have moderate corner/edge wear/bump and rub/color lift, yet they remain overall intact and presentable. Inside, there is an inscription dating the book to 1873 on the front fly leaf, scattered foxing and spotty stain to some of the pages and a previous owners stamp, yet the pages remain very readable, tear free and the binding though a bit cocked is intact.
