The "The Dragon King Rises" is the beginning of "The Blood Moon Trilogy." It is a story of people, dragons, amphibious giants, new and interesting evil beasts, and many other new and interesting races. The red moon over the land portends the birth of twins who will have magic powers and can greatly affect the land, either for the bad or the good. The Hunters of the Temple of Landia want the twins dead, while the Ko'daighan Rangers want to save them and train them to do good. Every race in the land is out to make the prophecies of the twins be fulfilled in the way they interpret the tomes of the land. There are numerous twists and turns. Just when you think you have been surprised in one way, the story turns in another. It is a fun read. There will be two more books in this series and then a series of three additional books based on the land.
