My name is Jane. I am fifteen years old, and I used to think I had all the answers. I just finished my freshman year of high school. I live in a small town in the Pacific Northwest. There is nothing remarkable about my town. I live in a modest house in the center of the old section of town. My mother died of cancer not long ago, so my father is the only parent left to guide me through my âformative yearsâ. He does the best he can, but I can be a challenge.I have begun to miss my mother very much. I recently discovered the monster haunting my developing body: sex. I have also determined that I am not particularly attracted to boys. I mentioned this to my best friend, Marge. She simply responded, âJust wait!â I donât think she entirely understood the situation. But, itâs summer now. I have three whole months ahead of me to goof off. And I intend to make full use of them. After all, I live in a quiet little town in the middle of nowhere. What could possibly go wrong?
