Ready for Tomorrow
Alison Roscoe, David Luscombe
A children's mini adventure story featuring animals planning an adventure to the moon. Intended for all but written specifically as a learning aid to help children with pronunciation of front and back speech sounds such as front, /d/ /t/ & /l/ vs back sounds, /k/ /g/ & /r/. Fronting is the term used when sounds that should be made at the back of the mouth, such as /g/ are made at the front, /d/. In practical terms, this means that a child might say โteaโ instead of โkeyโ or say โtarโ instead of โcar.โ As a speech & language therapy assistant I wrote this to help the children I worked with.
