Our story begins in a city in a marshland, suspended upon the watery surface like a ghost. It is here, in the Capital, that the first victim falls. On an overcast day, the General of the military is slain. Those responsible; the illegal conglomeration known simply as the Syndicate.Their purpose; to return Elementor to the world, a practice caught halfway between science and magic, outlawed for twenty turbulent years.Set to the task of tracking down the rebels is Colonel Matthew Arrow and his crew. Amongst them is Ira Lux, a spirited girl with strong opinions of right and wrong, Lucas Lanchaster, a conn artist who gets them into as much trouble as he gets them out of, and Arrow’s closest friend, the easy-going, sharp-shooting sniper, Major Thomas Cooper. But Arrow is more familiar with the Syndicate than he first lets on. As their leader emerges from the shadows, she threatens to dig up a personal, intimate past that Arrow would rather just let die.Nothing is smooth sailing for the crew, particularly for Arrow and Ira; both Elementors hiding from the very city that would destroy them. They dance on a fine line, working for the city that offers protection to the weak by hunting down the strong, yet undeniably connected to the Syndicate who use anarchy to bring about equality.

  • Hunting in the Golden Days

    Hubert Garle

Paperback (Forgotten Books, Jan. 31, 2018)
Excerpt from Hunting in the Golden DaysI have an old and battered silver wine funnel in my possession, which belonged to my forefathers, who were all ardent fox-hunters. Many a time have I thought what tales it could tell if it could only speak, for it has, doubtless, been present at many a hunting dinner in the days of yore, when people were more particular about the condition of port than they are nowadays. The thoughts it conjures up in my mind are of a very pleasant nature, and to it is attributed the conception.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
